Concept

The G20 runs on two tracks. The finance track is worked by finance ministers and central bank governors. The Sherpa track covers everything else and is led by each leader's personal representative, the Sherpa.

India held the G20 presidency for a year and hosted the leaders' summit in New Delhi in September 2023. Amitabh Kant was the Sherpa, and Harsh Vardhan Shringla was the summit's chief coordinator.
