Correct — D. India won the ICC men's Cricket World Cup for the first time in 1983, beating the West Indies in the final at Lord's under Kapil Dev.

India made a small total and then bowled the West Indies out for less, which is why the win is remembered as an upset over the champions of 1975 and 1979.

India's second men's ODI World Cup came in 2011, so option (d) is the first of the two.

Why the others are wrong

1992 — 1992 was won by Pakistan under Imran Khan, at a World Cup held in Australia and New Zealand.

India has won the men's ODI World Cup twice, in 1983 and 2011, and the 2011 final was played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai with India among the hosts.

India has hosted or co-hosted in 1987, 1996, 2011 and 2023, which is why hosting years crowd the option list in a question like this one.

The stem says men's. The women's World Cup has its own list of years and winners, and SSC asks the two separately.

1992 feels close because of Imran Khan's famous final, but the winner was Pakistan.
