Correct — A. 44 awards were presented at the National Sports and Adventure Awards-2022 ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan on 30 November 2022, which is option (a).

The figure is a total across categories, not the size of any one list. The ceremony confers the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna, the Arjuna, the Dronacharya and the Dhyan Chand lifetime awards.

It also confers the Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puraskar, the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad (MAKA) Trophy and the Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award. The word Adventure in the name of the ceremony is the clue that the count spans both lists.
