Correct — B, Australia. The India–Australia Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement, styled Ind-Aus ECTA in the Department of Commerce's own documents, was signed on 2 April 2022 at a virtual ceremony — Piyush Goyal signing for India as Commerce and Industry Minister and Dan Tehan for Australia as Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment — and it entered into force on 29 December 2022, some nine months before this paper was set. What the question is really testing is the acronym, not the year: India concluded two large trade pacts within six weeks of each other in early 2022, and only the Australian one is an ECTA. The agreement itself is substantial rather than a headline — fourteen chapters plus a preamble, annexes and side letters, covering Trade in Goods with full tariff schedules for both sides, Rules of Origin, Customs Procedures and Trade Facilitation, Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures, Technical Barriers to Trade, Trade in Services with separate annexes on financial services, telecommunications and professional services, Temporary Movement of Natural Persons, Transparency, Dispute Settlement and Final Provisions. So it is a goods-plus-services agreement, not a tariff-only arrangement. One further point defines it: ECTA is deliberately an interim instrument.
