The Sthaviravāda (Theravāda) school is an early ‘Hinayana’ tradition and does not belong to Mahayana; hence Statement 1 is wrong. The Lokottaravādins were indeed one of the eight sub-sects that branched out of the Mahāsāṃghika school, so Statement 2 is correct. Mahāsāṃghikas emphasised the supra-mundane (lokottara) nature and deification of the Buddha, ideas that nurtured later Mahayana thought, making Statement 3 correct.
