(4.1) Case Study: Understanding and managing one’s own emotions and those of others is vital for success in human life. Joy, sorrow, fear, anger, and envy are universal emotions. Emotional skills include timely and appropriate expression and regulation of one’s own and others’ emotions. For instance, anger in interpersonal relationships often causes fear and insecurity in others, weakening social bonds. Uncontrolled anger can damage physical and mental health. Emotionally healthy and socially skilled individuals are usually more successful and happy. It is believed that developing emotional skills can help a person perform better in various life situations and lead to greater efficiency and productivity.
