While retreating, many British officers left a large number of Indian soldiers behind. Those men fell into the hands of the Japanese army and were kept in prison camps. Rashbehari Bose was trying to bring these Indian soldiers together and organise them one by one. At that very time Subhash Bose arrived in Rangoon. Inspired by his struggle for freedom, both Burma and Japan came forward with every kind of help.
