Case Study 2 : Naxalite Problem – Release of Hostages. Mr. X is a high-level Administrative Officer. One day he received information that a few Naxalites have taken around 55 people as hostages, including 12 children and 4 foreigners. The group demands that their ten colleagues be released from jail and the cases against them be withdrawn. The Government tried to resolve the problem by other means, but in the meantime a hostage was killed. The State Government has appointed Mr. X to take proper action; he may talk to Naxalite leaders to resolve the problem.
