(a)The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) is appointed by the President of India and remains in office during the pleasure of the President of India.

(b)Administrative expenses of the office of the CAG are charged upon the Contingency Fund of India.

(c)The reports of the CAG relating to the accounts of the Union and States are submitted to the President of India.

(d)The President of India shall cause the reports of the CAG relating to the accounts of the Union to be laid before each House of Parliament.
